DISCOVER GROUP is designed for adolescents 13-17 years of age who have been referred for substance abuse evaluation through area school systems, juvenile court services or a parent/guardian. The curriculum is directed towards adolescents who are at risk of abusing substances or are in the early stages of abusing chemical substances. This program is highly educational, focusing on the effects of chemical use, peer pressure, decision making skills, leisure interests and activities, self esteem, dealing with emotions and developing a basic understanding of the disease of addiction.
