About NORTH SHORE - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
North Shore Medical Center accepts adults (18 or older) who need inpatient psychiatric stabilization and who may also need detoxification from alcohol or drugs. Patients may also have co-existing medical problems such as HIV, Hepatitis, Cerrhosis, etc. There are 2 units - 20 beds each - that are locked Baker Act receiving units. Hospitalization is for acute stabilization lasting approximately 7 days.
